A couple weeks ago I scored a nice little haul at a yard-sale and this bedside table was included.
Great piece of furniture but I knew the moment I saw it that I was finally going to try and replicate one of those amazeballs Pottery Barn pieces that I constantly dream about.
I worked on this little cutie yesterday and was actually able to finish it yesterday. That NEVER happens for me but it was a really easy makeover.
I used a sample Valspar pot that I originally bought for the top of a dresser (more on that coming later) and there was plenty leftover to use for this. The color is called Lincoln Cottage Black but it's more like a deep charcoal grey to me. Doesn't matter...I love it!
This is after one coat of paint. I didn't prime or sand or anything, I just sprayed it down with my trusty vinegar/water/dawn mix and gave it a good wipe down all over.
This is the start of the 2nd coat. It ended up needing about 3 coats overall...2 full coats and then I went back touched up a few spots where you could barely still see the wood peeking through.
After everything was dry I hit the edges with some 100 grit sandpaper and called it complete.
What do y'all think? I think it turned out pretty dang well! And while I could only dream of selling furniture for hundred and hundreds of dollars, this one is for sale over in my booth now for the folks, like me, who refuse to spend that much on a piece!
Thanks for lookin' y'all!!
