Chandelier makeover for the booth!

Friday, August 15, 2014

Hello my friends! I hope you all have enjoyed your week thus far. We are headed to the lake this weekend and I cannot wait!

My booth has been in some dire need of additional lighting and I have been keeping my eyes peeled for a chandelier for weeks now.

Last week the man who owns the shop where my booth is located GAVE me a chandy. Yup...he just straight up gave it me! He also hardwired it and hung it up for me after I finished with the re-do. (Shout out to Tim! You rock yo!)

Here is fantabulos before picture...

Just your standard, run of the mill, brass light fixture...

But now? Oh she is perfection!

This makeover was so stinkin' easy. I just spray painted the entire thing with my fave (ORB) and after it was dry I wrapped some twine around the arms, hot glued the ends and called it a day! I think it turned out pretty great and it 100% fits with the "style" of my booth.

To paint it I just hung it from a nail in the ceiling of my garage and went around in circles with the spray paint...

This didn't take very much twine at all, I hardly noticed the bulk of the roll go down, so it's a very cost effective project.

'And it is hanging in the booth...

Please excuse the missing light bulb. I was too eager to take pictures rather than go hunting for another bulb!

The only thing I would change is that I think I would like it to "hang" a little more, rather than be so close to the ceiling...but that is an easy adjustment when the time comes.

What do y'all think? I think it doesn't even look like the same light! It's amazing what a little bit of paint can do.

Have a great and safe weekend y'all!
