Before and After: Vintage Radio Cabinet

Monday, August 4, 2014

Happy Monday y'all! how was your weekend? I spent all of my weekend trying to get several projects finished for the booth this week.

This little radio cabinet was one such project. I bought it from an estate sale for $5.00...yep...that's right. It has a record player and an 8-track player complete with an 8-track of Hank Williams Greatest Hits! Oh yeah.

I didn't plug it in but the nice lady told me it was still working. I didn't care if it worked or not, it was $5 bucks. Although it does appear to have all the parts and pieces and even some record cleaner on the inside.

I knew since I didn't spend very much on this one I was going to transform it into my "statement" piece for my booth to try and grab peoples attention...

I'd say mission accomplished, don't ya think? I love the way this turned out. So fantastically bright! I used spray paint for the top grey and bottom turquoise and it only took 2 coats to cover with NO primer. Gotta love it!

I cannot wait to get this thing over to my booth. It screams "Look at me!!!!", which was totally the goal!

There were lots of things associated with the record and 8-track player inside so I just left everything in there in-case someone decides to buy this and actually use it as intended. I love that it's a neat little piece of history but still funky and fresh now with the updated paint colors.

And finally, here she is on display in my booth....what do y'all think?

My little booth space is coming right along! I love it!

Thanks for lookin y'all!
