Master Bedroom Makeover...

Friday, March 15, 2013

Well here it is...finally...

We have worked out booties off to get this dang room finished and I'm STILL not completely done...I need something on either side of that map on the wall you see. Any ideas?

The map is a driving map of Kentucky. Since I just moved from there and I miss my family and my home town I had to add a little something to remind me of it! Plus I REALLY wanted to use that frame! :)

This will be a picture heavy post...incoming...

A shot from the doorway

My little sitting nook - A chair that once my grandmothers and then my moms and now mine. Yep, that's an upside down trash can as a side table and you know what? I LOVE it!

That cedar chest still has the moth warranty on the inside from 1940. How cool is that?

This bed set came from Target and it is FABULOUS! So soft and plush and beautiful! I would give you the link but it appears it is not available online anymore! Boo

The valance above the windows are custom, just 1x6s cut to fit over the curtain rod and stained. Super easy DIY project! I will do a tutorial on those soon! But seriously...piece of cake!

I bought these antlers from ebay and just used gorilla glue to stick them on a wine box lid I had in the craft room! I think it turned out great!

The little picture on the left has lyrics to a song that the hubby and I love and the little seashells are from 4 trips to various beaches.

It is HARD to keep Gage out of pictures, let me tell you! He is not shy at all.

The TV "stand" is just 4 stained crates (the TV is actually mounted but looks like it's standing on the crates) That might be changed later but for now it works and I kinda think it's cute.

The dresser on the left was the color of the one of the right but it started to yellow so I just painted it to match the room.

The sign above my antique dresser says "Whatever souls are made of, his and mine, they are the same". It used to be above the bed and MAY go back over there...eventually.

That's it for now folks! We might make some tiny changes, here and there but I still love it!

Catch y'all later! -Kris
