Front Door Wreath

Mornin' y'all!

Do you know there is only 11 days until Christmas?

Yea well...I just finished assembling my front door wreath 2 days ago!
Which is probably for the better considering I used real peppermints and they will probably melt under the rays of sun.

Here's what I used as inspiration...

Cute right?

I figured this would be an easy one to replicate so while I was at the Dollar Tree looking for supplies for my snow globes I grabbed a couple packages of fake candy canes.

Later when I was at Walmart (can I just say that is a 75 mile round trip to get to anything other than Dollar Tree or Walmart in my town?) gathering the remaining supplies for my snow globes I also grabbed some cute miniature snowflake ornaments to use on the wreath. Then I went home and pieced it together to see what it would look like.

I liked it, it was kind of cute. The snowflakes were to also be going around the bottom where the candy canes met at the tip because I wanted to cover the glue.

Fast forward SEVERAL days later and I decided I should probably clear off my kitchen table and make some room for us to eat, instead of eating at the island...so I had to finish my crafts. I decided I wanted to use peppermints instead of snowflakes and I added a small bow.

Here's the finished product, what do you think?

It's growing on me! Next year I think I will start sooner and make something a little more extravagant but this one is cute and festive so I call it a job well done!

Thanks for lookin'. I have lots of things planned for the new year.
