My little (big) lovely!

Edited to add: I am posting this at the Dog Days of Winter link challenge. This is an oldie, but a goody!

I'm back, and the doctors don't know what is wrong with my head. Blood work and CT scan were all normal. It's not migraines because I'm not light and sound sensitive..soo..I'm a mystery! Hubby has allowed me to come back to redoing furniture because the DR said it had nothing to do with that. (Or so they think) I will just suffer through the headaches (all medicine I've taken does not help).

So anyway... remember this from my last post? She got a little update over the weekend!

This is all her before glory...

Getting glued back together!

And being sanded...

and sanded some more...

Stained top!

The getting some paint...

And here is the beautiful finished product! I am so thrilled with the way this turned out! I used an ostrich white from Glidden and I stained the top with a color called Bombay. It is so pretty!
At first I used Kona brown and I HATED it. It covered the wood grain completely and just didn't look good at all...so it got sanded off and I applied the Bombay and was totally smitten.

Please excuse the little mutt butt in the shot!

I'm still working on staging, cut me some slack!

Honestly y'all...I SO wanted to do like a bright turquoise on this one, but I was scared! This piece is so old and so beautiful and I didn't know if doing a loud color would take away from that!

The top right drawer sticks a bit, I think maybe when I glued it all back together I put the drawer bracket too high on the inside. I think someone handy may be able to fix it...or lube up the drawers maybe? I don't know. All I know is that I want it out of my house QUICK before I change my mind, cause boy-oh-boy do I want to keep this little lovely!
